Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. Creators may also provide payout details such as bank account information.

Payment Data

We do not directly store credit card or bank card numbers. All payment information is processed and stored by our payment partner, Flutterwave. We receive transaction confirmations, amounts, and subscription status updates.

Usage Data

We automatically collect information about how you interact with the platform, including pages visited, features used, device information, IP address, and browser type. This helps us improve the Service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Deliver the Service — process payments, manage subscriptions, and automate group access.
  • Communicate with you — send transactional emails, account notifications, and support responses.
  • Improve the platform — analyse usage patterns, diagnose technical issues, and develop new features.
  • Ensure security — detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these limited circumstances:

  • Flutterwave — for processing payments and managing subscriptions.
  • Telegram & WhatsApp APIs — to manage group membership (we share only the minimum data required, such as user IDs).
  • Legal compliance — if required by law, regulation, or legal process.

4. Payment Processing

All payment processing is handled by Flutterwave, which is PCI DSS compliant. Flutterwave directly handles card data and bank details — this information never passes through or is stored on Memba servers.

For more information, please review Flutterwave's Privacy Policy.

5. Cookies & Tracking

Memba uses localStorage to manage authentication tokens and user preferences. We may also use analytics tools to understand usage patterns.

  • Essential storage — authentication tokens, session data, and theme preferences stored in localStorage.
  • Analytics — anonymized usage data to understand how the platform is used and improve the experience.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies or trackers.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. Specifically:

  • Account data is retained while your account is active.
  • Transaction records are retained for accounting and legal compliance purposes.
  • Upon request, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion — request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal obligations).
  • Export — request a portable copy of your data in a machine-readable format.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@memba.tech.

8. Children's Privacy

Memba is not intended for use by individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice on the platform. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
